Announcements – Friday, October 2nd 2026

If your parents choose to purchase Chromebook insurance for the 26-27 school year when they completed their online registration you can bring your $40 to the office in between classes. The deadline to turn in payment is the end of the day (10/2). 

KCTC will be here today (10/2) to meet with Sophomores at 1:00 p.m. 

The Dunklin County Health Center will be offering a free dental clinic on Thursday, October 22nd. Forms were sent home last week, if you did not get one there are some outside the office. Forms must be turned back into the office by Thursday (10/8) 

Congratulations to the junior class for being the best of the best of HHS – they are the winners of our SGA games this year, but will they be able to defeat the faculty? We will find out 7th hour! All students will need to go to the gym immediately after 6th hour. Seniors will play the Freshman for 3rd place then it will be Juniors vs. Faculty! 

KCTC Students who are playing in SGA Games you may stay at Holcomb for the games, but you have to come by the office and let us know so we can let VOTECH know. 

There will be air rifle practice Tuesday (10/6) 

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month! “Pink Up Holcomb Week” begins next week starting on Tuesday (10/6) with “Put Cancer to Sleep” – wear your favorite school appropriate PJS! The rest of the dress up days will be posted in the halls and on the announcements. Tshirts will be delivered next week and the Pink Up Holcomb Volleyball game that will take place on Thursday (10/8). 

Congratulations to our 8th JH Boys Basketball team on their win over Gideon in the 8th Grade Tournament at Delta C-7! They will play again tonight in the tournament at 7:30 p.m. against Delta C-7 for 1st place in the tournament! 

Our JH Girls Basketball team will play their 1st home game here this Monday (10/5) against Caruthersville at 5:00 p.m., the following junior stand workers should be here by 5:15 p.m. on Monday (10/5), they are Elena Lerma and Jimena Elvira! 

Our HS volleyball team will play on Monday (10/5) at South Pemiscot at 5:00 p.m. 

Our HS Baseball team will play in the Campbell Fall Classic on Monday (10/5) at 1:00 p.m. against Risco. 

There will be an FCA “Fields of Faith” event on Sunday (10/11) at 6:00 p.m. in Dexter. FCA students that are interested should sign the list outside the office and pick up a permission slip from the baskets outside the office. 

After school tutoring will begin next week. It will be every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday after school till 4:30 p.m. There will be a bus that will take students home from tutoring.  

Picture Retake Day will be Thursday (10/8). Any student that would like to have their school picture retaken needs to come by and let the office know. The following JH sports will also be photographed: JH Girls Basketball, JH Boys Basketball, and  JH Cheer. Players will need to make sure they have all parts of their uniforms on this day. 

Mrs. Lemings is missing several Jr. Beta membership agreement forms. Get those to her by the end of the day (10/2) or she will take that as you do not want to be a member of Jr. Beta this year. See Mrs. Lemings if you need a new form. 

Meeting Day will be next Friday (10/9). The sign up list is posted outside the office. 

There will be a haunted house meeting today at lunch in the art room. 

Band members that did not pick up their trash bag fundraiser – there are extra copies in the office. There will be band and auxiliary practice today after school until 4:30 p.m. in the FEMA building. 

We would like to wish a very Happy Birthday to Callen Danley and Dawson Robertson! Also to Noah Simmons and Molly Thompson – they have birthdays over the weekend!
